Dodecanese
The documenting power of a photograph testifies to what the past is and, in parallel, gains comparability with the present age, allows relatability. What was once the center of the ancient world is now only a peripheral area of Europe, on the border with Asia. The images are characterized by the eeriness of empty landscapes. Age, climate, political and economic factors are slowly grinding away and burying the former cradle of antique culture into oblivion.
